Happy Pride! Ok, we might be a couple months late, but the Greenscape team had so much fun participating in events around the Lower Mainland for #pride2016, we?re a bit delayed in giving you the recap on all the fun stuff we?ve been up too.
Greenscape has always strived to provide an inclusive work environment for our team as well as our community and partners, and being involved with Vancouver Pride and celebrations around the Lower Mainland has always been key to our business model.
This year we started off the celebrations by partnering with Queers & Beers for their Pride Edition at the Cobalt. Queers & Beers is a monthly meet up getting LGBT people out and about exploring the craft-brewing scene in Vancouver. Each month, the organizers pick a different brewery to check out. In July, they did a Pride Edition where they transform the monthly meet up into a full-blown summer party, and they asked us to help!
A couple weeks later, we were back at the Cobalt working with ManUp for their annual El Hangover party during the Vancouver Pride week of celebration. It?s a party highly anticipated by our team, and always proves to be a good time. Check out the awesome green walls we got to show off for this laid back parking lot party.
All these parties were leading up to the big day, the Vancouver Pride Parade! We had a really cool opportunity to work with CF Pacific Centre on their ?Closets are for Clothes? campaign and built a custom rolling clothing bin they wheeled through the parade with their pride t-shirts for attendees.
We got to flex our creative muscles in designing and building the cart, and got to be a part of this amazing event in the city. It was a great way to cap off Vancouver?s pride celebrations.
To cap it all off, some of our team members participated as volunteers for New West Pride Street Festival?on August 13th. The event is not one to be missed ? Columbia Street was closed down, with two stages of back-to-back entertainment all day long, tons of family fun activities, Drag Queen performances, and lots of vendors and information. We had such a fun day in the sun with the New West community.
Here?s to another year of inclusivity and supporting all members of our community.
